NAO-ONTARIO HOSTS GENERAL MEETING AND SYMPOSIUM
On Wednesday June 8th, 2016 NAO-Ontario held a general meeting and symposium in Toronto. Angel investors, group managers, and other partners in the Angel ecosystem gathered to compare notes and share best practices, plus attend brief educational sessions.
NAO-Ontario Chair, Blake Witkin, offered a preview of the year-end topline results from all Angel Investor groups across the province. Attendees were also treated to presentations on current hot topics. Grant McGlaughlin of Goodmans Law LLP reviewed “Cross-border Legal Issues” when Angels from the USA invest into Ontario companies. Then David Raffa, an M&A expert from Vancouver (and faculty member of the NACO Academy), presented governance and practical advice on managing post-investment issues and how to identify potential pitfalls.
The afternoon ended with a networking reception sponsored by NACO, affording those in attendance to meet with the presenters – and each other – to continue to the conversation and further deepen connections.
