National Capital Angel Capital Organization
The National Angel Capital Organization (NACO) is the Canadian industry association for Angel investors, groups, networks, funds and others with an active interest in building competitive seed and early-stage Canadian companies. These investors, who together make up the Canadian Angel-asset class, are estimated to invest from $500 million up to $1 billion in Canadian early-stage companies.
Ontario Centre of Innovation
Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI) drives the development of Ontario’s economy by helping create new jobs, products, services, technologies and businesses. In partnership with industry, OCI co-invests to commercialize innovation originating in the province’s publicly funded colleges, universities and research hospitals, and also supports and invests in early-stage projects, where the probability of commercial success and potential total return on innovation are substantial.
Research Innovation Commercialization Centre
The Research Innovation Commercialization (RIC) Centre is an incubator that helps entrepreneurs fast-track their business to market. As a ONE Network partner, RIC Centre offers a comprehensive range of supporting activities for entrepreneurs including one-on-one coaching, practical training, and networking events. RIC Centre has been recognized by the Ministry of Research and Innovation as the go-to innovation portal for Peel Region. By working with technology entrepreneurs in Aerospace, Advanced Manufacturing, Life Sciences and Emerging Technologies, RIC Centre provides key connections to help innovative technologies become thriving businesses.
Angel Capital Association
The Angel Capital Association (ACA) is the leading professional and trade association focused on fueling the success of accredited angel investors and portfolio companies in high-growth, early-stage ventures. ACA is the voice of the Angel industry, providing comprehensive services in support of members working in Angel groups, through portals and individually. ACA provides professional development, public policy advocacy and significant benefits and resources to its membership of 220 Angel groups and more than 12,000 individual accredited investors.
Communitech
Founded in Waterloo Region by a group of dedicated entrepreneurs in 1997, Communitech is the regional hub for the commercialization of innovative technologies, supporting and building a tech cluster of nearly 1,000 companies that generates more than $30 billion in annual revenue. A member of the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs, which is funded by the Ontario government, Communitech supports tech companies at all stages of their growth and development — from startups to rapidly-growing mid-size companies to large global players. Its goal is to create greater numbers of successful global businesses for Ontario and Canada.
The Funding Portal
The Funding Portal is an e-commerce platform that provides one-window access to all sources of government funding, including grants, tax incentives and other incentives programs, and sources of private financing to support the innovation and growth objectives of companies, hospitals, universities, charities and non-profits. Backed by some of Canada’s top business brands including KPMG, RBC, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME), Angel Investors Ontario and MaRS, The Funding Portal provides a national bilingual portal as called for in the Jenkins Report on federal R&D and the Drummond Report in Ontario.

The Innovation Cluster is an independent not-for-profit organization that serves to strengthen Peterborough’s regional innovation capacity by bridging the gap between scientific research and business. The Innovation Cluster brings together talent, knowledge, and investment to drive innovation-based economic growth and high-tech job creation across the Peterborough region. The Innovation Cluster supports clients’ commercialization efforts, facilitates value-adding partnerships, guides the protection of new intellectual property, leverages publicity, and provides access to funding and public and private investment.

Northumberland Community Futures Development Corporation
Northumberland Community Futures Development Corporation (Northumberland CFDC) is a not-for-profit business development corporation dedicated to providing financing and strategy for entrepreneurs. Northumberland CFDC is governed by a volunteer board of directors and staffed with business professionals delivering an array of entrepreneurial development programs funded by the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario. Northumberland CFDC manages an investment fund dedicated to business start up and expansion, and runs the $100,000 annual N100 Start-Up Competition.
The Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization
The Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization (OBIO®) is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization engaged in the development of an integrated health innovation economy for Ontario, and one that will become a global leader in providing health technology products and services to the international marketplace. The OBIO Capital Access Advisory Program (CAAP™) operates downstream from other programs and targets the critical issue of access to capital for bioscience companies at the Series A to later stages of venture financing. Companies work closely with the CAAP Steering Committee of North American Venture Capitalists and a team of CAAP Advisors to address unique goals and objectives to position them for financing success.
The Small Business Enterprise Centre
The Small Business Enterprise Centre is a premier resource centre helping local enterprising people start and grow their businesses, and meet their entrepreneurial aspirations. The Centre is one of 57 offices located across Ontario providing support to new and existing businesses during their start-up, development, retention and operation. The Centre supports the Towns of South Georgian Bay and include the Town of Collingwood, the Town of The Blue Mountains, Clearview Township, and the Town of Wasaga Beach. Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC) and community-based provider is an innovative partnership with the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation & Trade (the Province) and municipal governments.
